The Catana 48 has long been one of the best values in the used catamaran market for very serious sailors. These boats were designed by Loch Crowther, and sail beautifully. The boat is big, somewhat elegant, and is perhaps the most perfect boat one could find for a circumnavigation focused on sailing, and at a cost under 300K. This is a great cat for someone who is a pure sailor!
Coriolis is technically a 6 cabin boat. Back in the era when the boat was designed Catana was after two things, maximum performance, and maximum capacity. The two extra cabins (so to speak) are forward from the conventional forward berths in the areas generally used as sail lockers. Most people buying these older 48's and 44's convert the front berths to storage, and often convert a cabin to a workshop.
